Multiple DUIs in California can be an expensive nightmare, with thousands of dollars in court fines and fees, jail time, lost license, and even the danger of a felony conviction on your record.

When you call our Orange County DUI Lawyer, he will take over right away, working through the DMV administrative process to fight for your driving privileges and then, depending on the circumstances of your case, we’ll fight to minimize your exposure by seeking alternative sentencing options that keep you out of jail and at work and with your family.

Some options that we can pursue:

Community Service: The court could assign you to a charitable organization or a victims’ rights group in lieu of jail. You’ll work there like any other job, tracking your hours so you can provide the court with a record. Typically, eight hours of community service is treated as one hour of incarceration.

Work Release: If jail can’t be avoided, you may have the option of continuing to work through the Orange County’s Work Release Program. Excessive DUI history could make a person ineligible, but we’ve had good luck keeping our clients in the workforce following a 2nd DUI. Work release does not require you spend any bit of time in jail, but because it’s community service overseen by the Sheriff Department, it counts towards any jail sentence you may receive.

House Arrest: A great alternative to jail that may be available is House Arrest, where you are restricted to your home for most of your day, while still allowing you to leave your home to go to and from work. This is another option that can be used to keep someone with multiple prior offenses out of jail, and is often done in conjunction with a SCRAM device that monitors and alerts probation if the user has consumed any alcohol.

Sober Living: If you’re struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, there are options for you, and courts are often quite open to helping you transition to a healthier way of living. Riverside Sober Living facilities provide housing, alcohol and drug counseling, group sessions, and education or job training help. Outcomes from this type of intervention are often quite good.

Each alternative has its own eligibility requirements, but we will work hard to ensure that you have the ability to continue working. A 2nd, 3rd, or 4th DUI is a very serious issue, but I can help make sure it doesn’t keep you out of the game. Call us anytime, day or night, so I can start fighting for you.
